I would really suggest you get those from a Toyota dealer. Bushings are round short tubes that go between a shaft and a larger hole as sort of a bearing. There are also some bushings that may or may not be missing as well. That long one could be faked with a smaller bolt. I'll assume it's that one, as just the handle screw would not cause the symptoms you describe. One is the bolt that holds the handle on to the shift lever, and the other is the long bolt that holds the shift lever on to the top of the transmission. I'm now assuming you are talking about the main transmission shift lever and not the 4wd transfer case lever, is that correct? Assuming yes, I see two bolts that are possible problems. I don't normally help people with auto transmissions (I'm a stick shift guy) but you're so polite I'll make an exception. I guess I'll need him to clarify for me a little more as to specifically what I'm bolting to what so I can get this figured out. He said that the bolts to the 4wd unit were missing also. He found a bolt to temporary tighten whatever it was that was causing the gear shift to be lose, but it's not the correct size, so temp fix. Or, take out one of the other bolts and go to a good autoparts store. You might just need new TC shifter bushings. I could guess, but then real chance of being wrong. Maybe some pics would get us over the language barrier. I'd like to help, but 'the shifter itself (TC or trans, BTW) doesn't have any bolts in it and I have no idea what '4wd component' is. I'm hoping someone here can guide me in the right direction before my underneath falls apart? I'm afraid going to the dealer for bolts will cost way more than necessary! My friend mechanic has gone MIA He doesn't seem to know what size bolts I need, or where I could obtain said bolts. He also said that there were no bolts in the 4wd component to transf case. He put one in for now, but it's not the exact correct size -it lessened the wiggly room, but still shaky. I work at a high school and the auto shop teacher put it on the rack for me and said that a bolt from the shifter to the transf case (I hope I'm using the right components here!) was missing. The tranny seems great, but shortly after it was repaired, I put it in park and suddenly my gear shifter was loose and all over the place. Long story short, I had a friend mechanic replace my broken tranny in my 1999 4runner, limited ed, 4wd, a couple months ago. ![]()
